Has anyone scored with some aftermarket seats? I'm looking to put some new seats in my gen 1 to replace thesr5 bench. But some of the aftermarket seats look real stiff? Any recommendations? Or pics installed

Rsx type s seats on stock Tacoma seat rails. They're big. They sit high. They are hella comfy and supportive.

I fit 2 Corbeau GTS II seats in. An easy install.

How do they sit compared to stock seats?

I have third gen 4runner buckets and am 6'3" and I'm constantly leaning forward to see stop lights because they sit so tall

They ride a little taller than stock seats. I'm on the taller side and wasn't sure above it them at first, but after a few trips on and off-road I've managed to get them into a comfortable position.
I really like how they hold onto you and keep you in position despite being bumped and jostled. Also gave me room for an aftermarket center console, it isn't bolted down so we can move it around if we want.

I put in LG1 seats, they sit lower then stock by 2" or so, I'm 6' and have 5 or 6" (plenty) of head room,
But the LG1 seats are not a suspension seat and ride a little rough but hug the hell out of you, super comfy and have a killer look,
    And console is noT issue

Ah gotcha, thanks for the info!

Wow, that sounds really good, thanks for the info. Suspension seats aren't a must so I'll keep those in mind. I had some sticker shock at first but it's the price per pair and seems much more reasonable

I really do like carbeau, just wish it wouldn't cost me a $1000 to put a set of seats in my truck. Wonder if we could get a group buy going? 10% off would be a good chunk and make me feal better about it

Yea, seams like a lot of money but that's for two seats plus sliders, NEW, not a pair of used 10 year old worn out foam smelly seats, will be something you will use every day,
when you look at a trucks interior what's the first thing you see? Seats!! Pull the trigger and be excited
to get into your truck seats, after you get them installed you will forget about the cost and wonder why you struggled with buying them, I get complements from everyone that sees them, and rides in them.

Did you ever settle on aftermarket seats?
I bought a 1st gen a couple years ago, drivers seat was trashed so I went to pick-n-pull found a seat whose bracket was pretty close and just banged it into shape. That seat is now broken (probably had some internal damage I didn't see). I'd like to replace it with a "new" seat but I also need the bracket. Can't really find what I'm looking for with normal searches. Plenty of generic seats say they will fit, but the advice is to buy a bracket for your vehicle, made by the seat maker and I haven't been able to find that combination for my truck.

I've seen a lot of people using bucket seats from like an RSX or Sedan and welding the Tacoma brackets onto them. It isn't easy but it's cheaper than getting Corbeau seats. Plus you have the choice of getting the motorized or leather seats. I really want some Benz leather seats with the motorized adjustments and heat...

Haven't progressed to Welding yet :). Anyone have suggestions for bracket and low cost (about $200) seat?

If you don't like welding or fabricating, Corbeau seats and their bolt on brackets is your only choice. You're looking to spend at least $1,000 at the cheapest for a set.

You could use 4Runner seats if you wanted to but it will require drilling or cutting your stock Tacoma brackets and modifying it to work with the body.

When you installed that sub, how did you remove the bottle jack mount? Did you just take an angle grinder or something similar to you and just hack it out? :sawzall:

It was a kicker sub and got it off crutchfield, this one fit perfectly under the cross bar on the back wall as shown, 10”or 12” speaker,
It gives you all the brass you will need and is tucked away from sight
