I have a '23 TRD OR. After upgrading to 17" TRD Pro wheels and BFG K02 265/70/R17 tires, there is rubbing on the OEM mud flaps (even though this forum suggested it wouldn't...) I tried forming them with a heat gun but it didn't help. I live on a gravel road so I want mud flaps, but the rubbing is annoying. Are they any aftermarket flaps that might eliminate the rubbing?

I am in the same boat. Going in for an alignment this weekend to get the caster adjusted for more clearance.

Before I bought my Michelins at the end of last year I read through a lot of posts regarding this. I'd say it was about a 50/50 split between those who had no problem and those that had some rub on the OEM mud flaps. In the end I didn't want to be trimming or taking my mud flaps off altogether so I just went with the stock 265/65/R17s rather than chance going up to a 70. For the light non-pavement driving I to they are just fine.

For the record, I too read through many threads and posts, and recall it being closer to 95/5 (no rubbing/rubbing). Moot point now I guess. I'm considering trying out the Rockblokz flaps, hopefully that solves it.

I went with these (in the original size) when I upgraded to 255/85R16's, they work great, and no rubbing (although expensive for what they are).

The cutout is for the cab mount and allows you to mount the flaps tighter to the wheel well. I cut the cut out with a razor blade (which I do not recommend, it took forever), if I was doing it again I'd use a dremel or something.

It’s not 50/50, they all rub the same if running the same size tire and same flaps and rims. Your rim definitely would rub flaps with 265/70. With 265/65 it would not, as you have experiences.

the 50/50 comes from half the folks not even having mud flaps, so they won’t rub nor will they mention anything. Have to see pics from them and pay attention to notice they don’t have flaps, which means their input is next to worthless.

Meanwhile I just put 255/75 (32.1”) on Sport wheels and they’re not even close to rubbing the flaps. Love it.

Without the cutout option, I assume they still provide more clearance than the OEM flaps?

I recall several people, with the identical wheels and tires and me, and with OEM mud flaps, who reported zero rubbing issues. Maybe these people only ever drive on flat pavement with no bumps..

Folks who suggested you would not have rubbing with that rim don't have mud flaps. There is a lot of mixed up advice and experiences thrown out there. That rim will 100% rub the mud flaps with 265/70R17, every time you hit a minor bump with the wheel turned practically at all.

I actually just replied to your other post, but I'm not sure what kind of world those people live in. I've seen countless people with flaps and the same wheel and tire size have rubbing on turns with bumps. I did as well, until I traded for Sport wheels.

I'm sure the clearance is better, but the cutout is worth doing. The cutout is just a small portion on the front flaps (the odd shaped area below the 2nd mounting hole on the top flaps pictured below). It avoids interference with the cab mount.

The Rock Blokz flaps seem to have solved my rubbing issue. I installed them with the portion cutout for larger tires, and without the supplied spacers, to provide the greatest clearance. Thanks everyone, this forum is very helpful.

For whatever reason I’m getting some slight rubbing now with the Rock Blokz flaps. I’m not sure why it wasn’t an issue for about 3 months right after I installed them, but it is now. I’m just going to learn to live with it for now.
