    Hey all,

After tireless searching and talking to multiple Crutchfield reps who all recommended something different after admitting they didn’t have as much experience with these I’m hoping to get some advice. I would like a backup camera because I have a topper on the truck and have a toddler at home and would prefer not to back over her one day. I watched a few videos looking at the specs of the angle of the camera, resolution; and lux for night viewing but my problem is everything seems comparable. I believe in the “You get what you pay for” but to me this $30 Jensen

Specs aren’t far off of this pioneer
    https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130NDBC8/Pioneer-ND-BC8.html?search=pioneer_nd-bc8&skipvs=T

And neither are too far off of the alpine... https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500HCEC110/Alpine-HCE-C1100.html

Recommendations on a good “middle of the road”camera would be great. I don’t want the most expensive but I don’t want something that will break easily either. Thanks all. I’m not brand specific or order in specific where I get it it would just plug into my double din

Any updates? I just put in a touchscreen radio in yesterday and am now in the market for a camera as well.

I bought a Jensen VX7024 head unit with DVD/navigation/Bluetooth and was offered that Jensen backup camera for only $10. I had the Jensen head unit and backup camera installed recently and it works well. I had to have a custom bracket made for the backup camera to mount on top of my license plate. I wish they sold me the license plate frame version instead.

I have installed dozens of different brands of cameras and I can 100% say the reliability will be far more about the quality of the install vs the brand/price of the camera.

    buy 20’ of ¼” loom
    Buy some ½” heat shrink
    Solder every single wire

and most importantly, take your time and run the wire alone factory wiring. Don’t just dangle is under the truck. Don’t find some random thing to zip tie to, because there’s a decent chance it moves and will break the wire.
Follow the factory wiring and put heat shrink over all your exterior connections.

Ive taken my truck to 3 different place and each one says the wires are correct but it doesn't work. I don't think they soldered. Every once in a miracle it will work and then not for 6 months. One shop said it was the male and female jack connection in back of head unit. When you push the male jack side to side it works but fuzzy picture. Im lost

could be bad RCA connections. Could be damaged wire inside the RCA tip. Could be lots of things unfortunately
