Just ordered my Tacoma. Trd offroad. What would you guys recommend for an aftermarket front bumper that won't break the bank?

Do you need winch mount/Just for looks? Super strong with many light mounts? Personally I'd be doing viper cut with a small hidden winch mount and that's more than enough for me.

This is kind of the style I'm looking for. Winch mount isnt necessary for me. Just want a decent bumper for a little added protection and cool look. Without adding too much weight.

I have a stock bumper so its the most economical one to use given I paid for it. Care to list a price range or any more info than that...……………...

That Westin bumper is just over 800$ I cant see paying much more than that really. I'm looking for a direct fit without having to cut. I apologize if I'm not going about this the right way.

It’s all good. Keep in mind you get what you pay for, less money, less bumper

True statement. That Westin bumper seems to be all cosmetic. 10g is pretty flimsy

Without cutting and paying that little for a bumper you honestly don't gain much, because your limited to the small "hidden" winch type bumpers. And most bumpers will need a cut regardless because of the way the front bumper goes up to the headlights. If a bumper went all the way up to the lights I cant imagine the extra weight would be worth it.

@boston23 claims you have to cut to put on an after market bumper. This is not true, most of the popular ones you have to cut but there are companies out there that make bumpers that require zero cutting, they are just REALLY expensive and hard to find, but they do exist.

There is also the option of buying a bumper that requires cutting but then also buying the plastic 'cut' bumper pieces from a company that makes them so that you do not have to cut, you just take the entire stock bumper off and use their plastic piece and the bumper you buy to make it look like you cut but in reality you did not. Notice I didn't mention the company name who makes the plastic piece so you don't have to cut? yeah, so they DO exist, they were posted in the 'what have you done to your third gen' thread but I have searched numerous times and cannot find the post, though I KNOW it exists as I had it bookmarked to buy, but I lost my bookmarks and have been unable to find the company again, but I know they do exist! lol Good luck with your search and please post whichever bumper you decide to buy (and if anyone knows the plastic piece I was referring to in this post please post a link as I want to order them)

    Chad.
