I also had p0420 and p0430 codes from day one, which didn't bother me. I got those taken care of, but as someone who's owned an exhaust in the past. Oem cats are always better.

I personally feel this would be the better way to go. V-bands obviously aren't necessary

How did you figure out the cats were bad if you already had a code?
I have a set of AFE's as well.
    Were there any symptoms?

Clogged cats don't generally throw a code. The code I got was a bank 1 inefficient code on day one. That says its allowing too many pollutants through to the downstream o2 sensor. It's fairly typical for a high flow cat to throw that code. Once I pulled the rear o2 or of the stream a little the code went away. The side that broke was actually the bank 2 side. It never threw a code, but once it clogged I didn't expect it to

    This is some crazy sh*t.

For high flow cats, I prefer the metal core to the ceramic core.

They actually turned out to be a ceramic coated metal core. The slipped down in the converter body. I also prefer the metal core until it time to hollow it out. Removing the metal core on these cats was a nightmare

I may need to replace a factory cat below my JBA short tubes and I'm looking for options.. What is the setup in the picture?

Or should I just hollow them out?

    Thanks Guys!

No, I did them for another guy on here. The destroyed afe's are mine. I had all the stuff including the dt short tubes, but then the afe's presented themselves at a crazy good price.

Hmmm. Thanks for the response! They must have been new or even used oem cats huh? Wheres the best place to find the flange and v-band?

I still need to find a cat though...
