Hello, first of all, I have loved Toyota pickup trucks growing up in the 80s and 90s. I have an opportunity to buy a used Toyota Tacoma truck and I think I am falling in love with the truck and wanted to ask the forum for advice or suggestions if I'm making a right purchase?

2006 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner Doublecab TRD edition
    132K miles

I will be going to physically inspect the truck and take the truck for a drive next week, but overall it looks like it is in great shape. The main thing that concerns me is the mileage, but i know toyotas are dependable and I'll have it for another 80K to 100K miles.
Thanks! I appreciate any comments or advice

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
You can expect more than 200k out of a Tacoma any day of the week. Make sure the frame isn’t Swiss cheesed

Ppl throw trd stickers on anything now.

Is it supposed to be a trd offroad or trd sport?
We can tell you what to look for on either model.

Yes they are different, very different if you know what your looking for.

    Have any pictures of it?

If it has the 4.0, find out if the head gaskets have been replaced / updated. There are known HG issues around that year and it’s not a cheap / easy repair.

Look for a power inverter (110 volt plug like a house outlet) in the bed of the truck.
Look for a "diff lock" button on the lower dash to the left of the steering wheel.

Must be a v6.... trd offroad and sport dont come in 4cyl

Do a image search of trd seats and sr5 seats as well.
That should show the 2 different seats.

Best case is probably to get the VIN and call a dealership and ask them to run/verify it

It's an 06 with 132k on it. That's only 11k a year. Quit worrying about the mileage, it's not a 70s era domestic.

Check the obvious stuff like rust on the frame, leaks, bounce the shocks, stuff like that. Then if you have time dig deeper and look for worn out brakes, corrosion on the wire connectors, u-joint slop, worn out leaf springs, worn clutch, cracked window and door seals, sloppy steering components, Someone please stop me!!!

Hey OP, What is your main intent with the truck? Is it offroad/ overland/ rock crawl with? Will you be hauling things extensively? Alot of member come on here with 2wd trucks and later regret it when they see other 4wd members going on trails. (both are good in their respective manners though) theres also the debate of long bed and short bed based on what you will be hauling. 132 miles is nothing compared to the many threads with owners of 200k plus vehicles. Heck, we have a few guys on here with 400k+ miles! Good luck and thats a great lookin truck. As others have said, look for frame rust.

Where do you live? I'd recommend a Florida or California, Arizona etc non rust belt one if possible.

I've got the same truck! Only thing that's giving me problems is the alternator but I've already got a replacement part. Bought the truck with 89k on the clock and I'm at 100k now
