I'm hoping not to get down voted to oblivion for this but.
I have owned a bright red Tacoma 2nd gen and a silver DCSB Tacoma.
I've also had maroon and silver 4Runners, a dark blue Silverado, and a white Mustang.

I'm asking this after seeing a blurb about issues with white Tacoma paint in 3rd gens.

I am starting to put feelers out for my next Tacoma, potentially a 3rd gen TRD Pro.

The navy blue Silverado showed everything, tiny chips in paint, swirls, dust, etc.
The white Mustang has been incredibly easy to take care of.

Are there any other known paint issues, or things that as an owner, you would want to know prior to buying the color Tacoma that you have?

Hopefully this all makes sense and I really appreciate the input.

In before someone says "X" color = more panty drops.

OP: my advice is get the color that trips your trigger. It's just a truck!

just get whatever color you like, and I don't think you have much time to get a 2023 Pro,, not without ridiculous markups anyways, travel/searching, or having to buy used.

A white Ridegline is still a Ridgeline.

A white Tacoma is a Tacoma.

Deal with fallout from the color later.

OP read up on single stage paint vs two stage paint, it will help you understand some differences between auto paint and colors

OP appears to be female, so the goal may not be panty dropping. With that said, the Lunar rock is the best color; easy to keep clean, so far holding up with mixed storage inside/outside. conceals scratches well besides when you (cough) tap the front bumper on a concrete wall.

One can never have too many light bars.
I have a 2013 Magnetic Gray Metallic Tacoma and the paint on the roof has severely faded due to 10 years in the sun causing a clear coat failure. I know it's pretty common for this specific color.

No reported peeling issues with any other color. Lighter colors like silver don't show scratches as badly as you already know, but the Pro didn't come in silver.

Body shop tech here, Toyota 040 white is horrible.
I see them with paint flaking off all the time.

White tacomas seemed to have potential paint issues early on.

Not sure I’ve seen other colors with the level of issues.

The clear coat on mineral grey and black will get chalky and white…..but if you keep it waxed with good UV resistance wax it will stay nice.
People do not maintain paint like they should. Wax 2x a year, and spray detailer in between.
Automatic car wash soap is harsh….it needs to be to get bugs off and such and it strips wax in a hurry. I avoid them as much as possible.

It’s a cliche, but once you go Midnight Black Metallic, it’s hard to go back. And, where I live, being visible in blizzard conditions has some advantages.

To be fair, if you are disinclined to wash the truck regularly, silver or Lunar rock will look better most of the time.

I'd avoid the super white ones due to the clear coat issues they've had ongoing. Silver is good at hiding scratches and dirt, friend of mine has one because she doesn't wash or take care of her exterior much.

Bought a silver and lunar. Like both. Dealer told me the silver paint holds up best of all the Tacoma paints due to the high quality painting process- not sure if that is true or not. White seems to stain easily especially if you have red dirt.

Had a 2019 magnetic grey metallic. No issues with the paint. Now I drive a 2023 electric lime metallic. Awesome color, too early to say if it will have any issues down the road. However, it sticks out! Not always a good thing!

I have a solar octane Tacoma and this is going to sound insane but I’ve been attacked by wasps and bees while driving with the windows about 6 times now. It HAS to be something to do with the color, I’ve never had this issue before. I’ve checked the entire truck for something that might be attracting them or if I have a nest somewhere but again it’s not just wasps but bee’s as well (I don’t mind the bees) It sounds funny until a giant yellow jacket flies directly into your face while driving on a busy street. My wife thought I was being dramatic until it happened to her and she was about to open the door and bail on the highway
