I went for gloves instead like the last 39 years I’ve been driving. Wife’s car has it, it’s nice, but not worth the cost or effort for me. Your kilometrage may vary.

Heated wheel was a must have for me.I had to opt for the Sport+ package. That wheel cost me about $4400...lol.

This is a funny topic in our house. My in her 90s car nut mother insists on the feature. My kids love it. It only took the first morning with frost for my old hands to love it.

4400 got you more than just heated steering wheel... both front seats are power.. and heated. power rear sliding window.. aux switches. trailer brake controller. jbl speakers.. i think its a worthy upgrade.

Better be careful. You can't say anything good about the JBL system unless you want all of the "it sounds bad" and "the non-jbl system sounds better" people start coming out of the woodwork.

I think what Toyota does, is they crank out 25 (or whatever number) of Tacomas at a time with the same trim levels. Each trim probably has a different wiring harness. So, finding a portion of a wiring harness will probably not happen.

Perhaps I'm wrong. Good luck with your quest. Winter here in the middle of Idaho will be knocking on my door in two days and I'm still thinking about a block heater.

Sunroof is premium package, not the upgrade package.

In Canada it is included in the Sport Plus Package. Premium is above that.

Been driving for 40 years in Midwest winters. Never once in all those years did I get in a cold vehicle and immediately jump back out cause the seats or wheel was not heated. My TRD Sport has these and it remains to be seen if I'll become a convert. Were still having 70 to 80 degree days.

As a young man in my 20's, I would have laughed at the thought of paying extra for the heated seats or steering wheel. As an older man pushing 60, these things are a must have.

This couldn't be more true. Doesn't even have to be hot, just taking the bite out of holding onto something that continually zaps the heat away from your fingers is enough. But until I actually experienced a heated wheel, I was on the other side too despite driving in -40C weather for 25 years.

I find that cloth seats without heating are fine, but leather seats without heating are miserable in single and negative digits.

If you don’t have good gloves that can safely grip the wheel, then a heated wheel is helpful.

If you have bad arthritis like I have and you have to grip a cold steering wheel with your bare hands you’re going to be in agony until the cabin heats up, which on newer vehicles may be never.
