Trade it for an 18 would be your best bet.

Computer, radar unit, (& camera behind mirror?) wiring, steering wheel, grill would all need to be updated.

I find it to be less than useless. Set at the shortest distance it gives enough space for other vehicles to pull in and then the system slows abruptly. Close on a vehicle and start to pull out to pass but you got too close (5 car lengths) so it closes the throttle and or hammers the brakes while you are pulling out to pass. Then it floors it when all is clear. I stopped using it. Just hold the stalk for a second longer and you get a normal non radar cruise which works fine and gives better mileage without jerking the truck around.

    Exactly!

Far too conservative in following distance (even on the "single bar" setting), and way too aggressive in speed changes.

I used it last night on a 2 hour drive. Thought I would Hate it(used it on my mom’s RAV4). Honestly, it was a really nice feature to have. My style of driving is either stop and go city driving-with no use for cruise-or longer jaunts on the highway. I’m usually not in a hurry on those trips so I don’t mind slowing down until I can pass someone. Everyone is different, but I really Like it. For now.

I agree - not a feature I expected to really like, but it was really convenient on a 1.5 hour drive I did a week after buying it. No complaints with it so far.

I would rather have the auto high beams that the 18's have than the adaptive cruise.

TBH when I was attempting to use it in my RAV4 loaner I found that all it did was cause me to have people cut me off. It doesn't follow at a distance close enough to the next car to be useful.
