    Good evening gentlemen.

I used to live in CA so the idea of getting my windows tinted to then have the tint forcefully removed by a cop a few months later was a turn off.

I have moved and I want to have the windows tinted on my 2018 TRD OR double cab Tacoma. I want to add a brow as well but they caught me off guard when they asked what width. I was under the impression that there was some sort of an industry standard size. They told me to leave a mark on the windshield with a piece of tape so they know what size. Don't want it to thin but not too thick either. I'm 5'11 and sit up straight(no lean)

Was wondering if you could share what size brow you got on your 3rd gen Tacoma.

What size do you all recommend?

It's nice to have!!! Most of the time i'm driving in the shade LOL... but you do lose a lot vision since the window soo damn small... I think mine is close to 3inches or so i can take a picture for you.

I think any where from 6-8" would work well. That's what I plan on getting.

There should be a line on the side of the windshield on either the driver or passenger side. That indicates the legal limit of how far down you can go, but of course you can always go more. Usually this line is about 4-6 inches from the top. If you are going to tint and live in a HOT area then i would go 5% all around, this will block a lot of heat from getting in and make it more enjoyable to drive on sunny days. Night driving will take some adjusting and you will probably have to lower the brightness of you screen and dash. 30-35% is good too and will block heat still, but also allow you to maintain safe vision at night. after all said and done I would look into a insulated sunscreen for your car also, this will help block out heat from the non-tinted areas of the windshield. just my $0.02

In the state of Georgia you can tint the top 6"of your windshield, legally.

I plan on getting ceramic tint all around to help with heat and not interfere with my cell reception in any way.

I thought it was called the AS-1 line? Little dash that says as1 on windshield?

I found the AS1 line on my windshield. Looks like a good measure to go by. I by no means want to go too low but kind want to find a sweet spot. Will measure the AS1 line when I get home.

Anyone go by the AS1 line and can post some pics? Dropping the truck off tomorrow before work.

I went with a 7” brow, which is 1” below the AS1 line. I’m 6’ tall and it’s perfect for me, I’m not ducking down to see below it. It’s actually a two piece brow due to the safety sensor/camera. And yes, my entire windshield is tinted too!

2 piece? Can you elaborate on this? my truck also has this safety sensor. Is it split vertically or horizontally?
