Currently waiting to be put on I have 5100's with ome 887 coils to throw on the front, 5100's for the rear and the HS 3 leaf progressive aal. When putting the new aal do I completely remove the stock aal pack? Will this still lift the rear and make my truck sit about level and maybe even retain some rake? I've heard talk about overload springs as well, what are those? Trying to learn as I go so any input is appreciated thanks!

Over loaf leaf is the bottom leaf (shortest leaf)

Awesome thank you. I've heard if I leave this in it would give me approximately another 1/2' lift in the rear? Keeping in mind I want my truck to be as level as possible but if I still have some rake that's fine, would you recommend I keep it in or remove it?

I kept mine in because I carry heavy loads. 400 to 600 a day constant. You can always leave it in and take it out if you dont like it, or vice versa. Do you have new center pins for the leafs?
If you take it out and decide to put it back, dont trim the center pin as much. May need to drill the bump stop a tad for the extra few threads.

I don't have new center pins, only new extended u-bolts. I have no constant load and rarely have a heavy load so is it fair to say I'd be better off starting with the overload spring out? Thanks for the help!

That's going to be a personal preference.
Are you going to go off road with the truck or malls only?
Most likely you will need new pins.

I will be taking it off-road. No insane crawling will be done though.

Keep the overload in, you’ll want it for load carrying capacity and to keep a slight rake when coupled with the 887 springs. When I did my AAL install the factory center pin was either long enough or my 3 leaf set came with a new pin. I know I didn’t have to buy one separately.

A new center pin is a "need to have" item when installing a 3 leaf aal. I have installed these packs in both my Tacomasand been very pleased with them on road and off. I retained my over load springs both times and with no load on the rear i got close to 3" lift each time. I know they say like 2" but they always came out with more. If you're installing standard length 5100s in the rear I don't think they will be long enough. I had 5125's in the rear on this one before I switched to Icons (I don't see any difference just got a good deal on the Icons) but they are for 2"-3" lift in the rear. The 3 leaf packs carry a load well and ride really good.

Here's a pic this is with 2.5"-3" lift in the front with 33" (255/80/17's) and it is noticably higher in the back

Thanks for the help, I actually opened up the box and checked last night and they actually do come with a new center pin. Also I really hope those 5100’s work in the rear, if not I’m gonna have to take out that overload spring

You will be ok. Dont forget to adjust bump stops if necessary to limit up travel. Also consider replacing with the 5100 rcd extended

If you choose to use the overload spring you will most likely need to remove the alignment bracket on the side toward the front of the truck as it interferes with the Zligent brackets on the aal’s. It’s not a big deal just grind the head off the river and it pops off

20180512_171558.jpg I have the Headstrong 3 leaf also. I kept the overload in. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Watch @Rob Daman video. It's very helpful. I also went with Wheelers Super Bump Bumpstops.
