ADD relay

where can I find my add relay and what should it look like?

Actually it is behind the pass side kick panel. An OE one will say "4wd relay" or "transmission relay" on it.
"A16" below.

 

Is this the relay?

 

First off, ADD relay is found only on trucks with both manual shift transfer case and vacuum ADD actuator. Not used with "push button" 4wd or the later years with the electric ADD actuator.

It will have 5 wires.

2---black with yellow stripe---12v power
1---blueish green---one ADD VSV
1---blue with red stripe---the other VSV
1---red with white stripe---ground side of relay coil (among other functions before landing on ground point)

Black wires at right below were added for a "2wd low range switch" (ADD defeat).
