So I have the access cab and rarely (ever?) see anything for the roof channels that have rubber covers..

are there roof rack mounts for these or what use are they?? (See below pic)

Planning on taking this on some camping road trip sort of tours maybe...

I do not understand your question, it's worded,,,, uh differently :D

The rubber inserts cover the channel when there is no roof rack ordered.

assuming i remove the rubber covers ....
Can I put a roof rack on the top...can I buy the mounts that attach to this channel.... Is it of.much value or usefulness?.

From what I remember, the access cab does not have the mounting holes under the trim, there are roof racks made, but you need to drill holes and run bolts to install them.

That explains alot.... thanks for the video.

So bottom line is that even though there is the channel the access cab does not have the mounting holes like the double cab does.

You will need to drill into your roof. If you do it right, it shouldn't leak.

then if you want to remove it (like i did) and not weld, i used set screws, rtv, teflon tape, and flex seal tape. It is possible to "undo"

This is bull crap. I have a 2022 Tacoma with the four-door crew cab option. It says there should be mounting holes for a roof rack but there's not. Does anybody else have this issue where their truck is supposed to have it but it doesn't

The holes are underneath color matched tape in the channels….to prevent water getting in without a roof rack.

I totally thought that was metal either bent or friction welded. Thank you so much for mentioning that it's color matched. It was not color matched in all the videos I watched

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Access cab is 8 holes. The Victory rack is great, comes with Rivnuts for the holes. Plenty of silicone and hasn't leaked a drop.
