Sets up and takes down in 2 minutes and allows you to leave all your gear in your truck off the ground if you wish. Lots of room to roll over, stretch out, and store some gear inside with you to keep it dry. This is my single favorite piece of truck camping equipment I own.

defintely possible, and pretty easy to do. I unbolted the seats, headrests, and center storage comparment, then built a bench over the top that gives me access to the box storage. I did it to give my a dog a better place to ride, although I have passed out back there on a couple occasions, not the most comfortable, but with the passenger seat folded down it works.

Good looking job man ... makes me think about ditching my platform and doing something along these lines. I am a bit anal so removing the seats may bother me a bit.

I removed my headrests, seats, storage bin and seat belts and built a low platform across the back of my access cab. It is for my dog, but it seems rather short to sleep on. I am 6' and could not imagine sleeping back there.

I have a platform for various things that covers the back seats of the AC, I've slept in on several occasion, with passenger seat being able to fold down it's not that bad, wouldn't do it sober but I've slept in/on worse!

I did this after I bought the truck, and it works GREAT. It's just some plywood, and I still need to carpet it, but it is SO much better than with the rear seats--unless you actually use it! I have space under the new floor for tools and straps, and a nice flat area to haul things.

    I should upload a picture.

    that is freakin awsome haha

thats exactly what i'm planning on doing. I took out the seats, center console and the rear seatbelts too and im thinking of drilling holes into the platform and bolting it into the seatbelt holes with the same size bolts to keep it from moving around. i'm still thinking of a way to make the width of the platform variable so that it can go right up to the backs of the front seats no matter how far forward of backward they are scooted

Now THAT is sick  i might consider making one of those when i can afford a supertop

I don't get it. Why be cramped up in the truck when you can sleep comfortably in a tent?

well the main reason i want to sleep in the cap is cuz its gunna be pretty cold in Barstow when i go in the winter and the cab is a better insulator than any tent. I have a tent, but i wanted to make a cargo platform in the back anyway, and it would be awsome if it could double as a sleeping area too. Plus if i wanna take a nap in between classes when i'm at school, it would be more practical to just sleep in the back, than to set up a tent in the parking structure haha :p

I've slept on the backseat of my doublecab just fine. Wouldn't want to do it for any serious length of time, but for a weekend it's just fine. I'm 5'10".
