    Hey everyone,
I'm just curious about the rear access cab door trim panels if anyone has some experience with them!
Currently I have a 14 Tacoma Access Cab, and I've done quite a few upgrades on the sound system, however I have 2x 6.5" Focals sitting in my garage right now because I refuse to mount them behind the panels I have now as they don't have any vents. I know they made the rear doors from 05-09 with them, so that being said, does anyone know if the mounting hardware/brackets are the same between the years? Like are they just plug and play from 08--14 or am I going to get one and find a mounting bracket a couple centimeters off on the old panels.. Anyways thanks for the input and if anyone has some suggestions on it I'd appreciate anything!20210719_103435.jpg 20210719_103440.jpg

Your best bet is to remove one of your panels to see what is underneath.

Then you can get complete measurements and scope out what you need to do.

The metal door panel is the same P/N 6700404140 across 2005-2015, so all the screws and push clips should line up.

WTF…thought all access cabs came with speakers in the rear doors.

No. I think it was 2009 or 2010 they stopped. There's these super shitty piezo speakers in the headliner, but there are no wires run to the rear doors. Kinda shitty

Sweet, thanks a bunch for all the info. Currently I have my rear "tweeters" if that's what you want to call them, disconnected and running to my sub Amp, but once I get the rear speakers in I'll have to move those rear outputs to my 4ch Amp and get an RCA bridge from that to my sub Amp.
Regardless, I got 2 door panels ordered, ran me about $250 total and I got some rear mounts/brackets from ********* for like $25. Shipping costed almost as much as the mounts lol. Will post pics as the project comes along!

    My shit is all stock.
Anyone interested in a trade? I’ve eliminated the rear speakers in my 07. Would like to go to the smoothie panels.

Alright!!! The day has finally come, and I got my brackets in the mail yesterday! New(old) door panels have been here since last Thursday, so I went ahead and knocked it out this morning. Pretty straight forward, doors fit perfectly, speakers fit perfectly, and I ended up having to change my amp setup. I have it set up so all my speaker level outputs can go to an RCA converter, then from the RCA converter (front channel) to my speaker amp, and my rear channel RCA's hooked to my mono sub amp. With the added speakers, I just put the rear channel RCA's into my speaker amp, then got another set of RCA cables to jump from my ch1 output on my amp to the input on my sub amp. Anyways! Hiding the wiring is the easiest thing ever in this taco, it's almost like there were meant to be speakers there in the first place 0.o
Overall though, the sound improvement is so far beyond what I expected, and it was definitely worth the $350 (for the panels, brackets, and a new set of RCA cables)
If you're thinking about doing this - stop thinking about it, and just bite the bullet. Pics below

Looks great, how was getting the wires through the existing rubber loom from the door to the cab, pretty straight forward? Big difference in sound with the rear speakers?

I have the JBL with Entune, I'm curious if this radio has outputs for these speakers or if I'd be forced to go aftermarket or use the outputs for the mini piezoelectric speakers in the headliner.

Easy cheesy getting it through that rubber, the grommets come out and go back into place with ease, and I'd assume the rear outputs the radio has are just going to those piezo speakers. I just ended up cutting the wires for the rears behind the head unit and just wiring them to that rca adapter. Hate that the entune doesn't come standard with RCA outs.

And yes, HUGE difference with the rear speakers. You hear sound from all around the cab and it's spectacular.
