Accel Coil Pack

    Cold Air package, Rancho coil overs and rear adjustable shocks, Flow Master Dual Exhaust
    I had purchased a set of Accel Super coil pack for my 2008 Tacoma 4.0L engine. They have been on the engine for 10 months and causing misfires and rough idling. I took the truck to my mechanic for a diagnostic just to make sure my issues was not with anything else. The problem is spark from the coil pack to the spark plugs. I reinstalled my old factory coil packs and the problem has gone away. This product has a 90 day warranty so if you purchase and they fail after 90 days you are out of luck.

    I don't think this product was design for the the 4.0 L engine.

    I've heard this same thing more than once. Accel makes good stuff, but you can't go too far off the factory specs and succeed. Not clear whether the spark is too strong and bleeds out to the valve cover, or whether the plugs need a different gap with the Accel coils, or what. But several have reported this same problem with the 4.0...
