AC missing fuse?

My ac hasn't worked since I bought it (05) from a guy who put a motor (07) into it. I checked the fuse box and realized the 100 amp one was missing. I bought a new one and tried to plug it in but there was nothing to plug it into. Idk if it is missing a wire or 2, or if It just doesn't need a fuse but on the fuse box it shows one. Anyone have a 05/07 Tacoma that could check their fuse box? Thanks

 

The 100A fuse is for the Inverter (AC SKT), which your truck likely doesn't have (only TRD Sport/OffRoad models had it).

The A/C controls are powered by the 10A A/C fuse & IG1 Fuse, the blower is powered by the 50A HEATER fuse & HEATER Relay, and the A/C compressor is powered by the IG1 No 2 Fuse & MG CLT Relay which is controlled by the A/C Amplifier.

Does the blower work buy it doesn't blow cold? A/C light flashing?
Have you checked if it has refrigerant in the system?

 

It has refrigerant, the clutch is not spinning when I turn it on. Blower works, ac light is flashing. I checked fuses, probably the compressor?

 

Swap the MG CLT relay with the horn relay, maybe you will ge lucky and it's just a bad relay.
If not there's some other tests we can do.

Does the clutch momentarily engage and then the light starts flashing or does it not engage at all?

 

I think it just doesn't spin

 

Ok what if you jump pins 3 & 5 of the MG CLT relay with a paperclip with the engine running, does it do anything?

 

I will try that later, idk if it helps but the light only flashes sometimes

 

Who knows just what might have been done or not done with the engine swap?

Since the AC has never worked for the OP

We know the system is Charged from the Manifold Gauge pressure readings??

 

I tried to add freon and it said it was full on the gauge on the bottle

 

Finally had time to try the paper clip, didn't change anything except the light didn't flash

 

Did the A/C clutch engage when you jumped out the relay?

 

No

 

Make sure you have power at Pin 5 of the MG CLT Relay, if that's good jump the pins again and make sure you get power at Pin 1 (Violet) of the A/C Compressor connector. If that checks out then your A/C clutch has failed.
