Looking for anyone that has replaced a evap thermistor on a second gen. I have searched threads and see some topics but no info or videos Online of how to do the swap. Can it be done without removing the dash?

My AC won’t shut off and will freeze up, I have checked resistance of the sensor and it is no where close to the Toyota specs posted in the service manual.

From the image you May Be able to get to it through the stereo opening or from the glove box opening if you have tiny hands... Looks like it just clips into place. Maybe someone with first hand experience will chime in.

Looking at the drawing doesn't look real promising does it?

Thanks. It’s a $10 sensor but getting to it looks to be the hard part. I am hoping someone that has done it before (maybe Toyota tech) can give us some insight.

Just wanted to know if you ever found out how to replace the sensor. I've been experiencing some issues with my 2014 tacoma after having the evaporator replaced and now the ac will blow cold then cool then back to cold. I'm thinking its the evap sensor and wanted to do the job myself.

The evap case must come out FYI. It’s a job.

Do you think it would throw a code for a bad sensor?

No codes will be thrown. You will have to check resistance to ensure they are within the values at any specified temperature. Mine was way off.
