Hey folks, I've got an 05 double cab and i believe the bearing on the AC compressor is going. starting to make some scratchy squealy noise. Whats the best move for a quick fix? Do i need to install a bypass pulley or can i get a shorter belt and skip that pulley? and recommendations on specific parts would be highly appreciated!

PS i havent been able to find my belt diagram yet for this truck

You’ll also need to kill (fuse) /unplug the compressor.
Other wise it will try to come when every time you use and defrost mode.

Just unplug the compressor clutch wires. Or pull the fuse like others have mentioned.

I drove another car with a failed compressor for years, until someone played with the ac knobs & caused it to seize and shred the belt. I installed a bypass pulley.

That's what I did with mine for a few months before I got it fixed. Bogged down big time if the compressor engaged.
When I had it repaired I asked the shop to replace the belt since before I knew it was siezed I had turned it on for a few minutes.

Thanks guys! I have the same belt config as noted in the other thread. So ive got the part ordered and will give it a shot. Ill go for the bypass pulley if it doesnt work. anyone happen to know the specific part for the pulley for this config?
