ok - so I had a cold start clunk/screech when the AC was in the on position. Definitely seemed to be coming from the AC clutch. I also have an occasional blinking AC light on startup that goes away after cycling the ac on and off.

So - reading through threads I went ahead and picked up a new AC compressor clutch. This is a new Toyota unit, correct part number etc. BUT when I went to remove the old clutch the red wire (in photo below, not the ground) didn’t seem to come apart (it just looked like one piece of rubber connector). Am I just an idiot here? I’m not sure how to get the old clutch (wire/connector)out or how I would install the new one. I’ve got the rest of the removal/install covered) Help! I’ve watched some videos, etc… has anyone else had the same issue?

It's just a male/female terminal, carefully pull it apart

Or just cut the wire and use a butt connector or male/female spade style

i tried pulling the old piece apart (still on the truck - but it didn’t even see like it had two pieces - it looked like one piece.

I feel like an idiot here.
