My 2017 Tacoma has been on the fritz lately. I'm having some sort of electrical issue causing it.

Issue: I'll be driving and my Check ABS warning comes across the screen. Then Check Vehicle Stability Control System. Then Brake and Gas depressed Simultaneously, in that order usually. Once the "both pedals pressed at the same time comes up" the truck cuts power from the accelerator and I have to lift my foot and press it down again to get power, then it will immediately cut power again saying the same message. This usually happens until I mash the gas and accelerate pretty hard and get up to like 40 mph and 4k RPM.

Diagnosis: I took it to Toyota for Diag and they said they arent sure what's causing the issue but I should look into replacing my brake light switch.

Has anybody else had this problem or know what might be causing the issue? I ordered a new brake light switch and it should be here sometime this week.

    Still stock completely capable!
Obvs a completely different vehicle but my caliber srt4 had Similar issues and it was a ABS sensor. Quick fix and good to go.

All these systems use wheel speed sensors as inputs. I'd look there first.

I see you're in Colorado... have you had a shit ton of snow lately? My WRX did the same thing when some sensors got caked with snow. A car wash with underspray dislodged it enough to get it back to normal.

If not, bring it to the dealer.

If the brake light switch was faulty the vehicle wouldn’t start at some point. As stated above...wheel speed sensors are the more likely culprit.

My previous vehicle was a 2007 Touareg and I had ABS / Traction Control light on the dash on two occasions. In both cases, wheel speed sensors were the culprit. I guess once the seal deteriorates and water/dust get in there, corrosion happens and then the sensor won't read properly, triggering the light.

As others have said, it could simply be a bad ABS sensor as well, hopefully thats the case as I am sure thats the cheaper fix!

Dealer said Brake Light Switch but idk if i believe them, and all your above comments have reinforced that. Some of my more mechanically inclined buddies also suggested wheel speed sensor.

There has been a lot of snow lately, and the issue only happens during the winter. It was first acting up last year, but once it stopped snowing I forgot about it because I didnt have an issue all summer or fall. Weird thing is that the issue started again AFTER I washed my truck and cleaned out the suspension and wheels.

My issues always showed up if it was raining heavily, if I went ripping through a big puddle or if I washed it. If water is sprayed in and around the affected wheel it caused the speed sensor to not read properly and a dash light. In the beginning the light would come on and then a day or two of dry weather later it would turn off. Eventually it just stayed on all the time.

If a wheel speed sensor is faulting enough to trip the ABS light, then it should throw a code....

No sign of rats, but maybe. My air filters aren't eaten and none of the wires seem damaged or corroded

It really does seem weather induced to me, because it's only happened shortly after snow and most recently when I washed it. It's been wet and snowy where I live all week though. Obviously theres a bigger issue, a little water shouldnt be lighting up every warning on my dash.
