Poll included. For those that have ran both, which did you prefer?

Have not ran both, but couldn't be happier with my 20" amber s8. Incredible light output.

This is the direction I’m leaning. Never having seen an amber light in use it’s a lot to dish out though. I suppose the lens covers are always swappable on this model though right?

It depends... What are the primary conditions in which you will be using the light? Also, do you have any other auxiliary lighting?

I’m not commonly in dusty or snowy conditions like I hear amber is ideal for.. most of my offroad driving is either on the plains or mountain logging/mining roads.

Edit: only other lighting is BD squadron sports.

I haven't used the BD lights, but have had lots of rigids. Buy the WHITE light, and put an amber cover if you want. The amber is nice and looks cool, but the white light lets you actually see further imo, the yellow gets lost more easily at long distances.

    That said,
Yellow seems to not spook deer as much, and I noticed they would stay put vs my white lighting which spooks them
Yellow is better in bad weather, but you are saying that isn't an issue.

I guess BD lets you change the lense so you can be white or yellow if you don't like the one you choose which rigid doesn't offer as an option as far as I know. This makes your choice much less risky since you can always change.
