    Hi there,

new here, I have a 2004 4runner V8 with A750 transmission. Unfortunately I think my wiring hardness is faulty. Based on symptoms of I've read here, I think I am in a similar boat. I have a p0713 and a rough shift into drive. based on the power point presentation I've found here on the a750 the transmission is in the pan.

But I can't seem to find which pins go where. I would assume these connectors go somewhere to the ECU. Ideally it would be great if I Can do some ohmage test of those pins at the ECU in the engine bay. I Rather not remove a connector that may or may not be an issue and if they are known to have problems disturb more pins.

I've spend the past few days looking on several posts here and on 4runner forums and youtube. but for the life of me can't seem to find a wiring diagram. I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I Don't mind paying for it if toyota has a paid service to get. Or whatever I need.

    thanks ! :)

Just as I feared. The connection is toast. Royal B***** to get to . What now????? Since the rest of the car has problems with it. not sure what to do. I don't have a reason to keep the car as it was going to be my fun car. but it has another list of issues.

I saw a video where some guy cut the floor board to shoved a bunch of pins into it and got it to work. That is the only time effective way of getting this up and going I think.

but there are other issues with car.
    New tires,
    one cv axle.
    front brakes
Maybe p0430 but looks like leak right by the o2 sensor. so hopefully its that and not the cat.

Before you go much further, you might want to inspect your frame.
Specifically by the catalytic converter on the drivers side.
With the rust is see in the picture, you might have a bigger issue.

I was just looking in that area, and didn't see any holes in the frame. my 02 4runner had that issue... thankfully this is slightly updated from that design. If I fix the transmission issue it will get fluid filmed shortly.

    NYC

no way to splice the internal connector you have to drop the pan.

i can splice the female plug, just access is terrible.

Yea looks like there's no way around dropping the pan to change the internal connector.
I wonder if you could get enough slack in the harness to get it in a better spot if you took it off the brackets and unplugged a few things.

I saw a good video of someone dunking the harness into baking soda, and it cleaned it right up, similar to how to would clean up battery terminals... also loosed the hold the wires had in the connector

The only thing I saw was someone cutting floor board to get access to the connector and jamming pins to fix it.

I might resort to this. the car is meant to be kept on private property and occational home depot run. Otherwise I really don't need the car. I just don't like giving up on a car something so stupid

If the pins are intact you may be able to clean it up and get it to work, on the picture of the transmission plug it looks like a few of them are corroded off.
There's a product called DeOxIt that can help break up corrosion and enhance conductivity but it's pretty pricey.

I have a set of these, they work pretty good for cleaning connectors if they don't have too small pins.

I don’t know. I’d probably not use CLR.
Mostly because I used it on some old pennies I had, and it turned them almost pink. It definitely eats copper and zinc.

You might try some DeoxIT. But those pins cooked. They will likely always be an issue if you reuse them.

The bigger the job, the more I sway towards “This isn’t the right way, but it works”.

You’d definitely be nervous if you ever seen some of my “fixes”.

I have ideas. But they aren’t good ideas.
So I am not giving any advice on this one.

I actually had to go out and see what OP is working with.

First off. The front drive shaft is all in the way.

2nd, The pan is coming off. I don’t see any other way.

3 pins are broken off, no cleaner will bring that back

I hear ya guys. I know pans gotta come off. but thoughts of cutting the floor board putting a new female header with the dorman part. and just jaming a pin and hoping it makes the connection? I'm not sure how this can get done on a ramp.

looks like I also gotta take off the exhaust as well??
