Looking at getting a new scan tool now I’m moving from the VAG ecosystem. Is there any advantage of going with something like the A30M vs the Bluedriver on the Gen 3’s? What is the preferred light to medium DIY mechanic scan tool on TW? TIA

Bluedriver seems like a better choice.

Many on here have pirated techstream with mongoose cables, which gets you next level diag but with mixed results, you can find threads on here.

I have a legal techstream from my work and you arent missing out on much without it, big thing is srs, abs, and transmission temps for a DIY'er.

I heard Bluedriver couldn’t read transmission temps?

https://ca.bluedriver.com/pages/compatibility looks like it? I don't own one, the last bluetooth scanner I had, I paid licensing fees for trans temps. It's obsolete now, Launch brand.

The logging continues to improve with VFTuner so a 3rd option is to get a setup and a KDMAX Pro+XT tune as an option from me: https://tacomatuning.com/remote-tuning - depends on your use case as todays VFTuner use case you'd need a laptop. If you are looking for a mobile device solution we all have to await VFTuners WiFlash module. You mentioned Techstream so I wanted to ensure folks new about VFTuner.
