I just paid $3400 for a Leer 180 with these same options but with drop down front window.

Also, had to wait over four months.

I ordered an ARE MX with a handful of upgrades for $3400. 4 month lead time. I am almost at month #3. Should be here mid to late Sept, confirmed with dealer. Said scheduled to ship Sept. 21 and takes about 10 days.

From what I recall I got these upgrades:
    • Windoors on both sides
    • Tilt down front window with slider
    • Headliner
    • Rear door dual locks
    • Battery powered LED light
    • Roof rack tracks (tracks only)

Good luck with the lead times. I ordered my ARE November 30th, 2020. Installed March 15th, 2021. As far as price, I hate to say it but that’s about right for the options. Shells are just stupid amounts of money these days. Good luck with what you decide OP. Take care.

Honestly wouldn't have been that big of a deal if I hadn't been quoted 6-10 weeks at purchase. To then be told "it's gonna ship next week" every time I called in the 2.5 months prior to it actually shipping.

Whatevs, supply chain gonna supply chain.

Same. Quoted 8-10 weeks. Took almost 4 months. Every time I asked, different excuse. Best excuse was, “well it takes 28 business days to transit to the west coast after it leaves Ohio”. I laughed so hard at that one….

Expect every bit of that. Possibly longer. Mine took so long past the quoted time that I got a significant savings from the dealer so in the end it was worth it for me.

It is funny, I don't think the shells are expensive. If you know how you want to use your truck and understand the benefits and drawbacks clearly, I think it is $ well spent.

With that said, while my ARE MX is on order, part of me is wishing I held off and tried a soft-topper before going in for a few reasons.
    1. Money could be put towards other upgrades and add a few years down the road
    2. Weight
    3. Ability to easily flip it open and have open bed
Too late though, deal is done. I am sure I will be happy with it. One thing I could not get past on the soft toppers was the lack of security. To a lesser degree the low head-space when camping.
