Alright guys, I'm pretty novice when it comes to anything with the engine so this will be a project for me while a learning experience as well so bare with me. I'm replacing my knock sensor in circuit 2 (p0330) and I had a few questions about it. I'm wanting to see the wiring for the knock sensor and does that involve me taking off my supercharger to access it?

And while I'm already opening all this up what else should I take a look at?

Is there a guide for all this so I have something to kind of go off of? I'm trying to figure out everything I'm going to need before I take this all apart so I don't need to go back to the store multiple times. Thanks for your time everyone!

Hey bud, I'm a NOOB here but I saw your post; Be aware that the crankshaft cog/harmonic balancer is on a keyed shaft. I have seen the keyway in the cog get too much play back and forth and you should replace it or nothing talks to each other correctly, just change it if there's slop. Take a look at your timing belt while your in the front cover, and your sensor is in that same area.

If its a 3.4, yes. You have to remove entire intake manifold/supercharger to access the knock sensor which is located on top of block between both head. I recommend changing the harness as well. You'll need intake manifold gasket for sure.

the harness is most likely your issue not the sensor itself (common issue). with that code your truck is gona be regarding all its timing. an easy bandaid fix is to splice the 2 knock sensor wires together.

changing the harness out is a pretty big job.

ive had this bandaid fix for 5 years :anonymous: no issues

How will I see the wire harness? Do I need to take the supercharger off to see the wires?

i spliced them at the harness into the ecu behind glove box. you can also find them tucked behind the timing belt cover on passenger side before going into the valley of the engine.

youl need to completely strip top of engine to properly change the harness. be sure to pick up new manifold gaskets if you do.
