I have a 2017 Tacoma and the a/c blows air fine but it’s always warm. I’ve left it on for 5-10 minutes to see if it’ll get cold but it never does. Any ideas what the issue is?

Low on r134 (or whatever refrigerant they use) is my guess.

I would think that either your freon is low (or gone?) or your compressor is not working. Do you hear the compressor kick on and off? If yes, then it's probably a freon issue

“Freon” does not get used like gas. Technically it should last forever. Maybe you have a leak?

I tried adding a/c pro but for some reason it wouldn’t work, I watched a hundred videos and i know I was doing it right...maybe the a/c pro I bought has a bad gauge I’m not sure

Your Tacoma uses R-1234YF refrigerant, which is probably why your A/C Pro wasn't working, assuming it's designed for R134A systems. I'm surprised you were able to connect it at all if that's the case.

Best to take it to a pro, and R-1234YF isn't cheap, so stop by your bank and take out a loan on the way to the shop.;)

If you insist on doing it yourself, this will help:

places around here test your charge and if you have added any instant fix cans they won’t work on it.

Same problem. Multiple dealer visits and a tear down, evaporator was leaking. Replaced evaporator under "toyota goodwill 50% payment". A/C gets cool until temp over 85, then sucks. Toyota and dealership said they can't fix it. Not kidding, had a whole thread here about it with some others with similar problems.

Low Freon, bad ac relay, bad ac condenser, and/or bad compressor.

Do you hear a cycling or hissing sound when AC is on?

Went through this in my 2016. after 3 seperate trips to dealer they found out my AC condensor core had a crack in it. I was losing all freon fluid..

Long story short, it was an expensive repair, I filed a claim with toyota corporate and they covered most of the repair cost.

It has been working fine since.
