So my A/C about 6 months ago kicked out on me, started making a weird hissing sound whenever it was switched to windshield or my A/C was turned on. I went and recharged it about a month or two ago, and it started to work great again. Now fast forward to today and it’s started making that same hissing sound, almost sounds like air leaking (I assumed the refrigerant leaking). Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? And/or how to fix it?
Thank you so much in advance

You need to check pressures in the system and inspect the high pressure relief valve for leakage or the system for a blockage that is creating abnormal pressures on the high side.

When you or someone recharges it, add some dye so you can later check for a leak.
If the hissing sound is pronounced, it may be the evaporator (check for dye coming out of the condensation drain).

take it to a qualified Auto shop for repair, make sure to read the online reviews for the shop before taking it in to avoid getting ripped off

Update: Was just messing around behind my pedals for an unrelated reason, and noticed frost building up around the right side. Anyone know what part this would be that’s leaking refrigerant?

That is what happens when you are getting low on refrigerant, the evaporator starts to ice over as the temps drop below 32f due to the condensing water on them. Once you get lower on refrigerant, it will cease cooling. You will also notice your air flow will drop or cease when the evaporator becomes blocked with ice.
