Driving home today, and noticed the fan only works on high. I’ve only owned it for about a month. Any ideas on a solution?

Seems there are a lot of resistors on the market, any idea if one is any better than the others?

Should the blower be replaced at the same time as the resistor?

Blower motor is fine if it works on high. The resistor is the issue. The resistor controls how much voltage gets to the blower motor. If it's full voltage (resistor NOT in-line) you get the HI setting. All of the lower settings like MED and LO are settings where the resistor is lowering the voltage the motor sees. When the resistor's connection or the resistor itself fails, all of the blower settings where the resistor was doing work will not work. This is why you are left only with the HI setting.

Although some people have claimed to have gotten by with just replacing the resistor, the proper way to insure success is to also replace the melted connector at the same time.

Yes that's true. If the connector is obviously melted you'll need to replace that too. That's one of those common sense things.

I had the same issue. I bought the resistor and it didn't help. I got it to work by messing with the wires. I haven't had time to swap out the connector. It does occasionally only go to high I can reach under move the wires a bit and it works again.

Replaced the resistor and connector. Seems to work as it should. Thanks all
