What? And get rid of that vintage plastic grill and the zip ties holding it on where the brackets have broken from changing headlights in February with that old, cold, brittle plastic!
I am interested in replacing mine too on my 95 Tacoma. But put it on the back burner since replacing the headlights with hella housings and have been able to change bulbs from the back since without removing the grill. But if someone has good experience with a grill, I am all ears.

    1997Tacoma...

    Where'd you get the hood?

Nevermind... I found your build thread.... I was thinking of repainting my hood anyway (bad clear coat). I think I'll look for the 4-runner hood now first...

Did you order the grill from GoodMatchup or someone else? Looking to do some upgrades to a 96 Tacoma.

Early 5-lug and 6-lug trucks had cosmetically different grilles, but I think the mounts are the same. I've seen 5-lug grilles on 6-lug trucks before.

I got one off flea-bay. Unknowingly I bought the 2WD model for mine. Just doesn't have some inside fins. It was 1/2 the cost of that one and it seemed decent quality and is holding up.

I could never separate myself from the OEM chrome on my truck.

I have gone back and forth constantly on getting a steel bumper in order to protect my truck. The chrome OEM grille and bumper are just too pretty. If I end up getting a steel bumper then I will probably try finding someone who can powdercoat it using a special chrome color.

I recently bought a ‘97, ordered this grill, and am in the same scenario… only non-chrome I could find were grey…. So I’m guessing my options are vinyl or paint… let me know if you have any luck.
