I currently have OME 884's with 5100's and a 2 inch AAl. I am however considering getting the Rough Country 6 inch lift kit. I've looked around the forums and i cant seem to find anyone else who has done this. From my understanding this can be done and i would just need wheel spacers in order to run 315/75r16's. My first question is would this be doable? My second question is has anyone else done something similar? If so did you have to buy anything else like new gears, a speedometer re calibrator, extended brake lines, uca's, etc. I'd really appreciate it if someone could let me know if this can be done without any repercussions on other suspension components and everything that i would need to buy in order to turn it into a beast.
    Thanks,
    Mike

I already have a 2 inch lift from coil overs so in theory the 6 inch drop bracket lift should work fine and it would give me 8 inches of lift. The only reason i'm planning on upgrading is because i'm not satisfied with the 265/75r16's i have now and i want to get 35's. I'm thinking if i'm gonna lift it again i'm gonna do it right this time. If anyone has the 6 inch rough country lift kit, how do you like it?

The rough country site says you can run 35's with just the 6 in drop bracket kit. I'm not sure if 884's would work with the drop bracket kit.

Lol that basically sums it up.

I'm assuming that it will work so I'm planning on buying the kit here in a few weeks and having 4 wheel parts install it for me. But I would feel a lot better about it if someone that has done something like this to their truck would let me know that it will work. I'm planning on buying the 6 inch Rough Country kit, hubcentric 2 inch wheel spacers, extended rear brake lines, and 315/75r16 duratracs.

This would work except for the fact that the rough country 6" rear lift consists of an add a leaf and you already have one

Thanks for replying man but I just double checked and the RC 6 inch lift has 4 inch blocks for the rear so I should be good. What all did you have to do in order to fit 37's? Was there a lot of cutting and trimming and did you get the extended rear brake lines? Also are you running stock UCA's? Thanks, let me know

yeah you can use the 4" blocks with the add a leaf you already have (even though its not the best thing to do, IT WILL WORK). It will get you by until you upgrade to a custom leaf pack that way you wouldn't need to use an AAL or block. You may need longer u-bolts since your using the blocks and AAL but more than likely you wont because they have a little room to play with

The only cutting was the stock inner plastic fender well. Im running light racing upper control arms and you WILL need to get extended brake lines all around

with 37's I would get 4.88 gears...I see your in NC like me. I went to east coast gear supply in Raleigh and they are awesome!!!

The rough country will not work with 2 more inches added to the front. Your control arms, cv joints etc will be completely extended which means you will have 0 down travel, prematurely wear ball joints, axles, most likely never get a proper alignment.

The rough country isn't a drop bracket lift? If not I'd stay away. I have the pro comp db lift

They make anything from 3", 4", and 6". The 4" & 6" being drop brackets

The rough country 6" is a drop bracket lift. It however does not drop the the differential, lower control arms, etc. a full 6". It drops it about 3 inches and gets the other 2-3" from pushing the control arms downward similar to the way his 884 springs achieve his 2" lift. So if he ran the Rough country spacers along with his current suspension he would have about the same angles on his control arms as if it had 4+ inches on a truck with no drop brackets.

Would the RC 4 inch kit work then? I was planning on spending about $3000-3500 for the lift, install, and tires so there are not too many options. What do you guys think about the Pro Comp 6 inch lift? That's about $1700. The main reason I was planning on going with the RC lift is because of the price. Since its only $1000 I'd be able to spend more on tires and get nice ones.

If you are worried about price just go with the zone kit. Zone and bds kits are the same except for the skid plates and you can get the zone at a better price.

I would stay away from the rc kits due to this is how your angles will look.

If you use your 884 springs your angles will be worse than that!

Also what size rims are you planning on buying? Zone, BDS, and Pro-Comp all recommend 18" plus wheels. RCD and Fabtech recommend 17" plus wheels. Owners of the Fabtech usually say the Fabtech is a solid well built kit but that it enlarges the turning radius quite a bit.

Also Rough Country's spindle's are crap. Cross-memeber's look like weak also. Zone is BDS just without the lifetime warranty.

Pro comp and Fabtech been around forever but, their designs are very "out dated" in my opinion and do not offer good offroad functionality.
