    Hey guys

thought I’d share my Oil report at 70k miles. 10k miles between changes (0w-20) since it was new. Lots of idling and Towing on this round and everything still looks great.

Their logo looks like the “cold stone” Lol.

That looks like they used an ICP-MS instrument to get the elements listed there. The units must be milligrams per kilogram (mg/KG aka “ppm”, parts per million ). I run analysis like this all the time at work. Humm wonder if I should use our instruments to analyze my oil lol. Can even run GCMS to get a breakdown of the hydrocarbons in the oil. The other measurements look like physical techniques. I wonder how they measure the %water ? Maybe a Karl Fischer coulometric titration? They probably then correlate the water number they get to arrive at the antifreeze value.

Oh and I don’t have any clue what the numbers mean for ur engine . Sorry just nerding out.

How dare you - using science to validate the recommended interval is adequate.

Quite true. Now that we have left “The age of Reason” behind in 2020, and entered “The age of Emotion”, it is highly unusual to base anything on science.

We've been here. You've just had more time to watch it unfold in its purest form. Now back to the ridiculous shit show that is 2020.

    Covid 19? Yes please
Tiger king? Who says Americans don't have culture.
Stock market takes a poo? But wait there's more!
3 trillion added to the debt? Pfffffff not my problem ill be dead by then.
Subsidized pay? Hey gotta get by.
    Massive protests and demonstrations?
Covid is still around at this part
Fuck it lets drown the south east and burn the west.
Ah shit the news is a re run from 2016

Pretty sure Toyota had lots of water-based oil back when they still made the Tacoma engines in Japan. They all had leaky head gaskets. Thankfully Toyota moved engine production to the USA where fellas know how to fit a gasket.

You forgot about riot season! It is easy to miss because it falls right around protests and demonstrations. It's the one time of the year we're immune from getting COVID!

If you wanna make a real Friday post, you gotta say you are running 10W30 dino-oil, cause it’s better for towing.

All Friday chats aside. Thank you OP for sharing your results. It’s always nice to see these. Toyota can’t paint a frame to save their lives, but they do make great, long lasting, gasoline engines.
