so I have a 2017 trd off road. I want to do 35s and a 6in lift but state laws say the bumper can't be higher than 28 inches. Will I be going over 28 inches or no? I have 30s right now and sitting about 20 inches off. Or would I have to do 4in and another question could I fit 35s on a 4in lift?

You can fit 35s on a 3" lift with enough cutting.

28" from the ground? Is the measurement made to the bottom of the bumper? Couldn't essentially the frame mount be used as a measurement?

Are 35's a must? Its a lot more work than people think. Regearing is a must and that's about $1400. Not including install which is typically another $1000. I'll take a measurement tomorrow of my bumper and get back to you.

If you have a 2WD, you can do the 4" spindle lift and you should have no problems.

I can tell you that 35" will fit under a 4" lift if you want to cut and trim a lot of your truck. I will eventually be going to a 6" lift myself with 35". I can't wait actually. @iHoopAlot has already made this move and he has not had to regear or do anything else to his truck. Runs great. Only cutting I believe they did was the CMC. That's it. I do not believe he has plans to regear either. Plus if you plan on getting the OVT tune you may not need to regear either. Therefore, I think it's something you do and see what you think. You have options after the fact to do whatever you'd like. I'd reach out to @iHoopAlot and ask him for more details. I'm contemplating going 37" myself :)

Usually @smitty99 would chime in on this type of topic, but I think he was banned or something.

He won't be ground these parts for a month, for "constantly negativity towards 3rd gen" or something like that.

I have a 6inch Pro Comp lift with 35's. At the highest point on my rear bumper is just over 28 inches.

Mine has stock gears and drives just fine. I mean yeah, on the interstate would probably be a better ride, but its not a necessity...

I have full skids, sliders, DOM steel bedrack and bumper w/winch. The weight has added up so that could be the case for me. I also live at higher elevation and mountains. Truck doesn't like hills.

Can we get a good side view of that rig. I want to fantasize about something I'm never going to do.

Obviously with the drop bracket comes cutting the crossmember. Yes. I stand corrected. Thought that was a given with a 6" lift.
