Thank you all for your caring words. I appreciate it. Things are better now, but it is tough to see the spot where I buried him.

Im sorry for your loss. Our four-legged furry little friends are just like kids to us, and its never easy when something like this happens. Hope that you feel better soon.

5'10", 200 plus pounds, metalhead scumbag and I bawled my eyes out when 3 of my cats passed on the past few years. Didn't matter that they were 18, 22, and 20 respectively and had lived great lives. Still ripped my heart out. I still remember calling in on Sunday night and telling my boss (who was a jerk) I couldn't come in because my cat was dying.

    So sorry man..

Took my ex's 18 year old bishon to the vet in April after he suffered a seizure. I'd only known him for 2 years but it was tough. I couldn't imagine what it's like to be the owner.

Sorry for your loss. I was crying at work when my little girl had a slipped disk and was paralyzed. So be a bitch, it's all good.

Sorry for your loss. My buddy is 13 and has slowed down a lot. I know he won't be around much longer. Reading these threads brings tears.

Shedding tears just reading through. We recently lost our German Shepard, Angel, as well. When she was just a puppy, my dad and I brought her to the beach. She wouldn't go near the water so finally we left her on shore and swam about 30 yards out. I was 10 years old, and yelled as a wave hit and took me under. As soon as I could see again, Angel had drug me to shore by the shirt collar. What a great guard dog.

As I grew up I didn't play with her near as often as I should have. Even if I made time to, she never fetched. Running alongside me is all I could get out of her, and of course she loved her belly rubs.

To make a long story short, we found her in the woods nearby last month and I now feel the guilt of not giving her my time. I feel closer to my girlfriends chocolate lab than I did to my own Angel and there's nothing I can do now.
