Good morning porchies. I’m getting ready for my ATV trip tomorrow down in Travlr’s neck of the woods. Last year everyone liked my beef jerky so I’m cooking up a batch. Changes the oil yesterday and lubed the driveshaft. I’ll rotate tires this morning then heading the Cabelas for fishing gear needed in a couple of weeks. I think I can get use to this retirement thing. Have a great day.

OK, just bought another crossbow like the one I have for a spare , thought about that for a while and I have already have everything that I need for that particular bow plus extras! It is used, and they don't make that model anymore, and I'm happy with the one I have, so now I have 2 Excalibur Matrix 380's just in case! I only decided to get another crossbow because we are becoming more and more dependent on archery season to get deer, thought it might be a good idea to have a backup in case "MURPHY" decided to pay a visit during archery season!

 

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!! The rain stopped here late afternoon yesterday - been raining since Sunday. Grass is mostly green - I'll cut it on Saturday after the ground dries out a bit.

And the plan of the day is to put new screws in the board that our mailboxes sit on, then clean up some big branches in the yard that came down from the rain, then "MIGHT" get to the once a year shrub trimming, if I don't get to the shrub trimming I'll find something else to putz around with!

The original one died ,there was a little clover left . I raked all the dead stuff off and reseeded . It has since sprouted . I haven’t been up there since last week . Might go check it today . Should be good with all the rain we just had

 

Check with the local Post Office. The boxes may have been removed by the Post Office, especially if you have a walking carrier. Our neighborhood mail drop box was removed a few years back.

Good morning, porch people, welcome to Thursday. Be sure to finish you running around errands today.
Need to get some tools together for my visit to my sister's beach house. Going to hang a TV on the wall and put down some grass seed. Crabs and ribs for dinner on Saturday night. Nothing much today, a few errands and a simple chicken cook.

Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal! Mowing today, once the dew dries off. Didn't have to water last night, again! Kept getting cloudier and cloudier while I was watering pots, and cleaning the pond filters. When it was pool time, too much lightning in the area to get in, and had to wait it out. All told, three decent storms rolled right on by. But with over 3.5" total last week, that's OK for now.
Took an interesting picture when I got in the pool. No, it's not really shaped that way!

 

I finally got enough spacer in my driverside strut to make the Taco sit square again - 1/2 inch! What a thrash....... couldn't find my 19 mm open end to save my life. Forgot (again) to accurately measure and record the wire size in the two strut springs. Damn blood thinners make me look like I've been sorting wildcats.

I had a Ford F-150 that had this "spring settling" tendency and in the space of two or three months it would settle both front springs enough to camber the (twin I-beam) front end end badly - needed a new alignment several times. A (pro) mechanic friend suggested a Moog "leveling" product that ended the tendency once and for all. And they weren't overly stiff - the Moog engineers simply made the spring taller by adding 1-1/2 collapsed, flat coils on one end for height. They obviously had a better handle on spring wire metallurgy than the Ford or Toy boys - camber was stable and the ride was the same as original.

Is there an aftermarket manufacturer that can do Tacoma springs with the same sort of expertise? The ride is stiff enough as it is for all purpose use so those heavy wire solutions won't do.

We have enjoyed our time here on the Big island. I think we decided on a city to settle down in. We’ll rent for a year before we make a permanent home her but Hawaii has always been our exit plan. My brain surgery threw a monetary wrench in the gears but I think we are ok still.
