    I predict a Tacoma "shortage" in our future. Supply up, demand down.

    It was a delayed launch, but high prices, high interest rates and no incentives are hurting Toyota right now.

    Looooooads of Tundras and the only cross shopping perk is "Its a Toyota"

    Everyone is finally waking up and not willing to pay 60-65k for a midsize pickup truck. Who knows how expensive the iforce max Tacoma will be. It’s stupid ridiculous, when you could buy a full size that cost less and does more.

    You can find some on the lot here and there but for the most part they are selling every one they are making. They just need to make more and stop having QC delays. That article makes me go:annoyed: Go back and look at any production where they do a generation change and you will see there is always a dip in sales. Happened back in late 2015. It is called a ramp up period. Loved the fact they mention the ranger sales numbers too since there was a period none were being produced....no shit they hardly sold anything as there were only a few 2023s left.

    This so much, just a way to generate clicks. Every manufacturer has a dip in sales changing over from gen to gen.

    Yeh this was totally expected and from a line that not even all models have been released. Just uninformed hysteria.

    I agree with the lack of supply being the main reason the #s are down. But how long will it take to determine if the prices/rates are the reason, 2nd quarter or next year?

    They will be selling for under MSRP by the fall. I have several dealers around me that sell for MSRP and use Smartpath. In the past they usually say sell pending but most of them are available right now. These are just a couple…there are at least 6-7 more Toyota dealerships around me

    Avondale Toyota
    Tacoma = 27
    Tundra = 28
    Tundra I-Force max = 52

    Surprise Toyota
    Tacomas = 66
    Tundras = 41
    Tundra I-Force max = 23

    Bell Road Toyota
    Tacoma = 61
    Tundra = 40
    Tundra I-Force max = 24

    I test drove a new Tundra I-force and the hybrid engine power is pretty nice. They are also willing to take $10k or more off the sticker. Unfortunately even the plastic feels thinner and just didn’t feel like a $70k vehicle. They also have a stupid amount of cameras. I’d say the most popular color for sale is underground followed by white and silver. There are few Bronze Oxides and smaller amounts of the red and blue. The only MT’s listed are SRs so far but I did sit in a fully loaded Off-Road in underground with a MT and it was really nice. One other thing that is interesting to me. For all the people that say “I’ll stick with my 3rd gen” on FB and on here, the number of available used 3rd gen on dealer lots has been slowly creeping up and I’m seeing a lot of 3rd gens on marketplace for sale in the last 4-6 weeks. I think the people buying the 4th gen are a lot of 3rd gen owners moving up. That is just antidotal so I don’t have numbers to back it up. It is just what I’m seeing but it isn’t surprising since there are always first adopters for something new and shiny and toyota people are pretty loyal to the brand. I would expect a lot of new Toyotas being bought by people who already own Toyotas.

    I was curious since only one dealer out of 5 by me has any (one SR5) in stock Tacomas. I checked the dealers you listed and smart path filters say only 3 of the 27, 3 of 66, and 1 if 61 are on lot and available. Those seem like pretty solid sales numbers, but I have no idea how 3g Numbers would compare

    I wish we had more to test drive up here but I think your proximity is helping with availability.

    Actually l just looked at sales from 2015 Aug thru Dec. Sales increased every one of those months compared to 2014 except for September were it was only 300 units less.

    Correct. Prices wont drop until the trucks start showing up and are not already reserved. It’s still too early for that which is why we probably won’t see trucks on the lot until the fall.

    Z71 is my sweet spot. TB lacks some creature comforts i'd like to have and a ZR2 lacks in the truck stuff dept.

    Value for any of them is hard to beat though. My 17 is going strong, so I am content for now, but the day is coming.

    Sales numbers through March are still inconclusive b/c the widespread quality issues which have now run into the hybrid release. Hopefully for those who laid down deposits, the hybrids will actually be delivered instead of sitting on a lot in Mexico waiting for parts while still being posted online by dealerships.

    Looking at this glass half full…in 2016 we had to just accept re-torqued rear differential bolts, transmission software updates, loose trim and shoddy paint, but in 2024 there are a lot of other great choices in midsize worth test driving.

    Reliably predicting what Tacoma’s real monthly sales numbers will be later this year is inconclusive, because not enough have been made been available for sale.

    Let’s assume it will be greater than 8000 per month. Last year Toyota sold at a pace of about 600 per day.

    Gen4 is expected to exceed that. See that here:
