    I also just purchased a 2000 Taco, V6 4x4. 6" lift.
Had to start a thread just to find out what that weird second strut was. Turns out to be Trail Master.
Have been shopping online for parts to convert to UCA's. What a frustrating experience.
Anyway, is yours 2wd? Need spindles? I see them on many websites for sale. Actually a part that can easily purchased outside buying a kit.
    Google search year+ make+spindles.
If yours is 4x4 you don't need spindles. You need steering knuckles 6" lift and UCA's.
Maybe we can help one another out by posting what we find.

Fabtech is the last of the companies to offer a 6" dropbracket lift kit... you could try to see if their spindle can be used with the Trailmaster kit... you can see the spindle on their website at http://www.fabtechmotorsports.com/T...-Toyota-Tacoma-4-Cyl-6-Lug-2WD-4WD-p1368.html

as for shocks, you can get into a set of Kings with dual rate springs to get rid of the coilover spacer... you would likely need a 12" travel dual rate coilover...

Thread over 2 years old. 1st two posters haven't been here in over a year.

You can see this by clicking on the posters name.

Point is, don't be disappointed if you get no response. (from them)

Your best bet would be to take this lift off and put a "normal" setup on. They don't make the Trail Master lift anymore (for good reason) so you aren't going to find the parts you need for it, at least not easily.

You'll probably need to re-fabricate or re-install whatever was removed to put this lift on in the first place; likely not going to be a fun project but at least in the end you'll be better off in the long run.

There are a few other more recent threads on this same subject. search around for them.

But to summarize: Previous owner screwed you by making it difficult (but not impossible) to revert back to stock or a 3" lift.

So it depends on what you want to do with your truck. If you want to off-road with it, you'll want to seriously consider reverting to a good quality 3" (or less) lift which will require fabrication. You'll get WAY better performance out of a well thought out 3" lift with high quality Fox/King/Icon shocks than any 6" bracket lift.

If you're desperate to keep a 6" lift (that doesn't suck), Fabtech is probably your best bet, but even then, you pay $3,500 and the rear is still just an add-a-leaf and blocks.

Or you could say whoever did the pre purchase inspection didn't make it clear to the buyer that issues would arise from this setup.

Or even caveat emptor seems to apply.

OP, hope you can square it away with a minimum of mess.

Yeah, I didn't mean that the previous owner was malicious, just that this particular modification makes it hard to go back to a stock configuration, should the new owner want something different down the road, like a "better" lift system.

If the only part of your lift that's messed up is the shock, you can go with a custom King front shock that will replace the stock shock AND the funky spacer... if I recall, a 14 inch travel front coilover should suffice... my buddy did a 12 inch travel King coilover for his Pro Comp 4 inch drop bracket lift and it rides 1000x better than the stock shock with the spacer...

You can contact King Shocks with your setup and they can advise you which coilover to go with... if you have the wallet for it, a dual rate shock would be a comfortable ride...

The shock on the right is what I assumed you meant by the strut being blown. They put a spring/shock on the spindle on the left?

Wow, k. If it were my truck, I would consider one of two options.

    1. Find a fabricator who can make a full size replacement spindle to replace that whole TM setup and get the custom size King shocks.

    2. Find a fabricator who can make and mount a whole new lower crossmember and replace the whole dropbracket system to bring you back to stock height.

Have you peeked under that boot? Just to confirm that it's a shock under there? Trailmaster appears to be in business still so maybe they could help you out, even if it's just some technical help since they no longer make a db lift for first gens...

It is a shock under there . Trail master bought the name from the old company that is no longer in business (the one that made the kit) and they don't have any info on it. They bought the name only. -I called them already.

Fabtech likely would sell the spindles for their kit separately, you may also need to buy uppeu control arms, not sure if that lift swapped them for something other than stock.
