I have purchased two sets of Polk Audio DB speakers over the last few years. The first set was 6.5" DB 651s. The 651s were discontinued so my last set was the 6.5" 652s. Both sets of speakers were purchased on SonicElectronix and came with universal mounting brackets. THESE MOUNTING BRACKETS NEVER LINE UP!!! At least not on my 08'. I rigged some crap up the first time I mounted them with over sized washers. It kind of worked but there was always a gap between the speaker and the door which I knew hindered sound quality and introduced some rattling over time.

I was just over it. So this time I designed my own speaker adapter in AutoCAD to be used with the Polk Audio DB652s. I had these laser cut from .118" (nominal 1/8") black acrylic plastic from Sendcutsend.com. Sendcutsend is pretty awesome if you have never used them for laser services. It was $11.60 for both adapters. I think they have a $19 minimum so maybe you can by a set for your buddy too. Free shipping when you hit the minimum too.

Anyway, I am posting the AutoCAD files and pictures here in case someone else is having the same problem. These are such a low dollar item that I don't really see the benefit to hanging onto the drawing and maybe making a minimal profit one day. Like other drawings I have posted, I just ask that no one attempts to sell them. I am only posting these for the benefit of the Tacoma community.

    Fitment:
    A.D. -2004 possible fitment.
    2005 - 2015 Guaranteed for Polk Audio DB651/DB652
    2016 + Possible fitment.

I will leave the possible fitment up to you.

Hope this helps someone out there.

I also plan to make the same type of adapters for the front doors. Not a priority right now, but i will post the .dwg when I have it done.
