    hello all

I currently am running a 3 inch lift on my 2014 trd sport. A good deal recently came up on a 6” bds with the fox coil overs and I’m about 95% ready to buy it. My only question is that online it says it requires an 18” wheel. I currently have 17” wheels with a -12 offset and I believe a 4.5” back spacing. (Mayhem warrior) will these wheels fit with the lift? I’m worried that the tie rod end may be too close to the wheel.

    Thanks

You need 18’s with that lift. Don’t buy it. They’re.. more show than go. Keep your set up.

The reason 18” Rims are required is because the tie rod is mounted on top of the spindle mount vs the bottom with the stock spindle.

SOME... 17’s might work... do a little research on TW.

    Or hell just start here...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/thinking-about-bds-6-lift-and-35s.483618/

Just know what you’re getting into. If it fits your needs than get it. Just make an informed decision. These are NOT well spoken of on TW.. but you need to make your own choice of course.

Bullshit. I have 16s with my 6 inch lift. You can get them to fit with a little bit of creativity.

Yea... I’m aware of that but with what back spacing are they talking about? -12 is right around 2 inches out farther then the stock oem rims.

Why not call BDS and just ask them?

I’m pretty sure they’ll answer your question

The kit does call for the use of 18" wheels like stated above due the tierod being mounted from the top. With that said some 17" wheels will work but it all depends on the inside of the wheel. The bds is a good kit for a drop bracket kit.

Hey bro, what size tires are you running on that thing? I currently have the TRD beadlocks, and plan on keeping them. Eventually going with a lift similar to yours.

Cool. No issues with the 7.5” width of the wheel with those tires?

Nope, easier to seat the beads. Just take the beadlock rings off when mounting and dismounting unless you have a touch less machine.
