Some of these pud knockers wants the Camel Trophy experience that comes with traveling a well groomed fire road while the the Weekend blares on the radio, and the Kraft singles are in the fridge with the iPad charging because they can't miss the office while camping under the stars.

Was this just a Friday thread? OP phoned it in with no details. Where ya camping? How many? Like to sleep in a tent? Does your significant other have unfounded fears about waking up surrounded by bears or gators? If you really want assistance you gotta do your part of the work.

/ probably just a "Friday" thread.

Agree, been following this thread and it seems to have gotten WAY off topic and the OP isn't giving any more info.

Agreed. A couple of years ago a buddy of mine mounted a RTT on his F-150. His first trip out in it he ended-up camping across town from where the rest of us were and the MC he'd brought to run back and forth on stopped working, which then meant one of us had to go pick him up whenever we all wanted to go someplace. It started to get old after a day or so. To his credit though the only time he has that tent on his truck is when he's within a day or so of leaving or returning from a trip. I've never understood those who leave them on all the time, but then again I happily gave away my last tent ten years ago and never looked-back.

Check my build thread - that's exactly what I built around. Right now the bike storage is the iffy part, BUT I have a 27.5, I test fit it, if I put the mount down at the rear, it will fit in the bed under the soft topper without kicking the wheels off to the sides, but a 29 would need to not be straight. So, putting the bike in the bed, and me in the cab, good to go.

Soft toppers can be found on craigslist and facebook all the time. Sleeping platform was PVC and plywood, done at home depot in an evening (two evenings. One for the PVC, one for the cutting/carpeting on the ply, but if I had planned ahead one evening would have been plenty time).

Get yourself a solar shower, let 'er rip.

    We are Millennials.

    Camping became OVERLANDING
    Skipping breakfast became INTERMITTENT FASTING
    Being homeless became VAN DWELLING

The only difference between being a homeless bum living down by the river in the drug fields and being a free spirit nomad embracing life and finding their soul is Instagram.
