    there's a group here called "senior companions" just volunteers who help out with errands like grocery shopping and doc visits. maybe a little housecleaning here and there. my grandpa was a volunteer for years - not that he was in great shape but he got around better than most. and there were a surprising amount of elderly folks in town who didn't have drivers licenses so they had no way to get out of the house otherwise.
