I think a lowered 2nd gen looks best with at least 18". Why not x-runner wheels?

    X2 on the XRunner wheels!

I will add the factory XRunner wheel and tire combo is an 18x8 with +30mm offset running 255/45/18 tires for reference.

    Your stock wheel is a 15 x 6 with a +34mm offset.

Keep in mind if you change width and/or offset of the wheel this will determine how centered it is in the fender well, or "poking out".

Use the to see how your clearance may be affected by these changes (plug in current wheel and potential new wheel specs). See the example for your stock wheel vs the XRunner below:

Hope this helps, let's see some pics when you get your new shoes please!

Some suggestions as for style although this is more personal preference of course..

If you like 17" and factory wheels take a look at some of these that were in the running for my 5 lug.

Including diameter, width, offset, and pics all in one place just for you!

All the wheels above have the center bore of 60.1 which is the same as your second gen and will bolt right on (first gens have a 67.1 center bore and need machining to fit the front hubs). You can also find wheels from other makes that work. Ford, Kia, Hyundai, and Dodge wheels have all made their way to Tacomas and look pretty darn nice too from what I have seen.

    Any of these look good?!

Funny, I looked into all of those same exact wheels!

The fact that the 2nd gen has a center bore of 60.1 really opens up being able to use a bunch of factory wheels.

For what it's worth, these are 18 in varrstoen es6 wheels with -12mm offset. CA2C9FFC-3F65-4333-92C6-2E97C577618A.jpg

I actually got it this way from the previous owner. It's on DJM 3in drop arms in the front with Feal coilovers. Rear is a 5 inch block with 4x4 leafs and the DJM frame notch.

edit: these wheels don't have tpms so that light is on, the lug nuts are the generic aftermarket splined ones, and the tires are 275/60R18's currently.

    https://www.roadkillcustoms.com/wheel-bolt-pattern-cross-reference/5x4.5-wheel-bolt-pattern-5x114.3mm-5x4.50-inches/

So here is a list of all the factory wheels that have the same bolt pattern 5x114.3 as the 5 lug. Check the hub diameter because some will be smaller, which is a no go, but larger and you can get spacers. Or Steel wheels are lug centric and don’t need the hub.

I’m running 16 inch dodge intrepid steel wheels on my 5 lug with 245 75 16 tires. I have run 300zx staggered wheels before, and a set from a 240sx that had a hub conversion.

Any Toyota 5x114.3 fwd sedan should fit, and any suv based on those. (Camry, Highlander, rav4, Avalon)

Just look around, don’t try spacers that change pattern. The offset will get too weird. And don’t do wobble bolts like with VW adapting. I don’t think we can do that without more work than it’s worth.

I did lots of research because I have stacks of Audi/vw wheels around and they are 5x112 but it’s too hard to adapt. Same with 5x130 Porsche/vw and 5x120 bmw/merc pattern.

    Good luck.

Just a point of clarification for the 1st genners - our center bore/hub diameter is 67.1 which is larger than almost all other Toyota wheels so for first gen trucks, they don't fit unless you bore out the center.

Off the top of my head, Dodge, Ford, Mazda, Buick, Jeep, Kia and Hyundai have a number of wheels with center bores 67.1 or larger so they are true bolt on (assuming the offset is right).
