Has anyone had a tube sub- assembly start leaking suddenly? What is the reason for this part to be attached to the fuel line?

Is this fuel line addition used to create enough Flex in the line so that the fuel filter can be changed easier? Can anyone come up with another reason why this may be incorporated into the fuel line?

Well the problem is, they think you have way tooo much money.

And this for sure is their solution........probably the most you'll ever pay per inch.

Be ubber careful with those old double flares', over tightening them is a bad deal...

Some of the 5vz people said to hell with it......and just source their own out of stainless braided hose and fittings....

might be a good time to look at boat extinguishers....stick it on the pass fender..

Have you had any experience using those copper 45° double flare gaskets to make up for any flare deformation?
When I replaced my fuel filter I had to tighten a flare nut so tight I didn't dare tighten anymore to stop the leak! This is before I found out about the flare gaskets and how well they work for stopping leaks. The Napa Gold filter that I recently bought had the flare gaskets included to be used in the installation.

Santech Washer No. 6 Flare 10 Piece (autozone.com)

I think its the #6's that are correct..........the #8's I first got where too big....I think

I used those in my fuel system that had that d-flare....even the rear tank hoses...
two years out with zero leaks...

Had a bitter lesson, over tighted that forward one of hardline to filter one....damaged the flare, someone misalign that bushing going into the receiver on that hose and stripped it out .....had to be sliced off piece by piece....pia..

For that one hose, only 1 in america.......$214 plus ship at Yota1....

A lot of people go break that connection at the fender to check for fuel flow....

that is an extremely bad ideal....

As far as flexure....these engines move around a lot.
Even shoved around from slight axle wrap........ factory leafs are kinda wimpy.....

Has anyone been able to find the metric fittings for a 5/16 inch line that will connect two double flare lines with nuts?
I'm looking for the flare nuts that are 45° double flare 14 mm by 1.5 and a union for 45° double flare to connect two lines. I have come up empty-handed.
