    Hey guys,

I have 2010 TRD that I bought used a year ago and noticed that the 4WD selector switch on the dash does not illuminate at night when the other instrument/dash lights are on. Is it supposed to light up? Nothing in the below image lights up. I'm wondering if I have a bad fuse or if this never lit up.

    Thanks.

    I'm referring to this switch:

On other Toyotas it does. Toyota cheaped out with the taco. From the factory, it doesn't light up, but it's easy to modify it so it will.

@rcbs204 used to sell the boards. Not sure if he still does.

Wish there was a plug and play light up 4WD switch. Not good with electric work :(

My mod is not hard at all, if you buy the little posi-tap connectors you can just tap into the connections. No soldering required.

rcbs204 is absolutely right. This is a very easy mod, and the directions to do it are great. The new board drops in with just one screw and, if you do what I did to the switch, you won't need to solder anything and it stays completely removable.

    You can do this. :)

Good point, I forget about that little brown connector. My new solid core wire will lend itself really well to that installation method.
