** THIS APPLIES TO J-SHIFTER WITH VACUUM A.D.D. ACTUATOR **

If your 4wd vacuum solenoids go bad, the only part number there is for these is for the set of two solenoids with the attached bracket (85440-35040).
There is no part number for the solenoids themselves as they are not sold separately and unfortunately, the part is discontinued.

Here's a picture for reference (its' located in the engine bay, on the driver's side fender, right below fuse box):
    toyota-8544035040-1491368026099-big.jpg

you can find the same type of solenoids separately by ordering:

    red solenoid - 25860-62010

blue solenoid - 90910-12109 (sometimes listed as 90910-12073 or 90910-12271)

You may need to reuse the black vent cap of your old blue solenoid as the new one may not come with a cap. The vent pipe is smaller on the new one, so your old cap will not fit on it, but a bit of chainsaw/weedeater fuel line does the trick to fit the old cap on

Are the red solenoid and the blue one the same? Can I swap them for one another? NO!
There is a reason why they are different color and why they both have a different notch on the connector
The reason is that one has a normal state "open" and the other has a normal state "closed"

If you do swap them out, your 4wd will be wonky or will not work at all because the vacuum routing will not be right!!!

you can also find them in junkyards on late 90s early 2000s camry, avalon, solara with 6cyl engine and 90s rav4
and of course, you can find the original part on pre-tacoma/tacoma/4runner/T100 but these are much less common in junkyards...

Aftermarket solenoids are available too, but they are often all black. The only way to differentiate which one is which is by looking at the notch on the connector

** THIS FIX ALSO APPLIES TO PRE-TACOMA PICKUPS, 4RUNNERS, T100 AS WELL AS LAND CRUISERS THAT USE THE 4WD VACUUM A.D.D. SYSTEM **

Look up part number 90910-13001 on eBay. Should work and only out $25 if it doesn’t.

I guess it' some new old stock... I have found a way cheaper fix, look at updated post :)

Connector and ports are different, so it indicates that it is not the same type of solenoid, unfortunately
