Install is simple, just jack up the rear from the frame, unbolt the flange and remove the resonator and tailpipe section. Bolt new part on and slide into the rubber hanger. Built from mild steel and zinc coated tubing.

Do you have a video demonstrating how this changes the exhaust sound of the truck? Ideally a before-and-after comparison?

 

I couldn’t tell any difference personally. People claim it sounds a touch deeper though.

Any concerns with the exhaust dumping in front of the spare tire? Full size 33” spare is fitting, but takes all the space available.

 

These dump the exhaust just before the rear axle, so there is plenty of space between it and the spare.

I ordered mine of Friday and recieved it on Monday.

Installed yesterday- It was super easy.

I dont know how others got their pipe out but here's what I did:

I put a ramp in front of the drivers front wheel and in front of the passenger rear wheel kind of like a flex test.

Lowered the spare a little more than half way and the pipe came right out.

The ATH part was a perfect fit btw... Everything lines up perfectly

The sound change was a positive for sure.

You only really notice the difference at idle, it's very small too, like just a little bit of a low tone rumble of the motor.

Which I think it really needed!

With the pipe on it, it definitely doesn't sound like a 270hp 4 cylinder, but without it, now it at least sounds like there is a combustion engine under the hood.

For all Tacoma owners, I think this part is next in line after you take that front spoiler off!
