Does anyone know for sure if the 4Runner front suspension can bolt up to our 2nd gen Tacoma’s? I’m curious because I’m reading everywhere that it would work but the Tacoma suspension onto a 4runner adds lift. So I’m assuming if i added front 4runner suspension it would lower my Tacoma. If anyone knows for certain and hopefully give me some insight on this. Thanks guys!

Do you want to lower your tacoma? I believe the lower bushings are too wide to fit into the tacoma LCA, so you would need to swap them or cut them down.

No i don’t want to lower my Tacoma. I’m selling fox coilovers for a 4runner or fj Cruiser and I’m getting a lot of questions if these would fit a Tacoma. Everywhere I’m reading says it bolts right up but I’m not 100% sure and i don’t want to misinform anyone buying these coilovers from me.

I think 03-09 4Runner is the same, at least that’s what Wheelersoffroad site tells me.

    I have a set of brand new fox coilovers for a 03-18 4runner or 07-14 fj. Part # 883-02-111.

Those don’t cross reference, call Fox and ask. May be as simple as a different spacer for the lower mount.

So long story short is that i needed the Fox coilover for the bds kit 883-02-048 and purchased them on eBay but when i received the coilovers they were for a 4runner or fj (883-02-111). Ebay seller disappeared, can’t get my money back, now I’m stuck trying to sell these so i can fund the right coilovers for my truck.

Just spoke with fox. Coilovers will mount right up. Only differences are the overall length(1/4in difference) heavy duty valving in the shock, better for Tacoma’s that want to overland because 4runners and fj’s are heavier and more travel, also better for Tacoma’s. Length isn’t much of an issue because the coilovers are adjustable.

So the 4runner coilovers is 1/4" longer than the tacoma?

Should fit no problem. 4R lca has a narrower pocket for the stock mount. When putting taco front suspension on 4r you have to grind down the bushings or the lca mount. Going 4r to taco should bolt right up

Idk if this helps. I swapped 5th gen 4runner shocks into my 4th gen and the lower eye hole of the shock was to wide to fit the lca. Had to grind it down a little bit.
