Will a 2000 4runner limited dash and console fit in a 99 prerunner xtra cab tacoma. I have the whole 4runner all brackets screws and everything. It's still in the truck I just want to know if it will fit. The only differences I can see before taking it out is the placement of the hazard button and clock. If anyone has done this please let me know. I searched for a write up and could not find one. Thanks.

Yes the dash will fit. It is a direct bolt up. I installed a 97 4runner dash in my 99 Tacoma. BUT the emergency brake has to be located to the console. It took some fabrication to mount the console, mainly a bracket to support the back of the console. I cutout the 4runner trans hump to locate the e-brake handle and used the plate under the tunnel to help support the brake.(I was going from std trans to an auto trans and needed to cut both holes). I used the 4runner e-brake cable and brackets and copied the 4runner brake setup on the rear axle.(I used the 4runner axle shafts and backing plates due to ABS tone ring). The 4runner seats will fit with minor modification to the mounting brackets. Good Luck

Thank you so much. Is all the dash wI ring the same. As in the cluster and other connections. If so I'm about to have a wood grain tan dash in my truck. And as soon as I clean the leather I will have nice power seats

I want to change the dash over because mine is pretty beat up and this 4runner will match the new leather power seats and new carpet. I will do a write up when I start that will be a weekend project for sure

Depends on the 4runner heater controls. If you have the cable and slider controls you good to go. If the 4runner has the electronic heater controls, you will not have the proper wiring. The Tacoma cable and slider controls will fit in the 4runner dash. With my install the heater fan, and A/C wire connectors were different, just had to change the pin positions on a couple of connectors. I was using the 4runner wiring harness and mating the 4runner and Tacoma heater controls, etc. The factory wiring schematics are very handy for this type of install. Toyota likes to change the wiring connectors from year to year.
