4runner bumper on tacoma

Hey everyone. I'm looking at purchasing Trail Gear front & rear bumpers. The guy selling them had them on his 99' 4runner.

I've heard that 3rd gen 4runner (96 to 02) bumpers will fit my 2003 tacoma. Based on what I've found i think this is correct? Can anyone confirm this for me? If it won't fit perfectly, how much work would be involved to make this work.

BTW, they're brand new and he wants $500 for both.

The front bumper mount of my 99 4runner was completely different than a tacoma.

 

I just purchased a TG rear tube bumper for 1st gen taco. As far as measurements it's pretty damn close to my 02 Sport T4R. Guess we'll see I'm the morning. Let's hope for the best. If I can't get it to fit I'll fabricate my own mounts!

 

So did you end up finding out I'm in a similar situation, would be interested to know if it worked or not?

 

just call trail gear and ask if you need different brackets and where you can buy them for it.

many aftermarket bumpers come uninversal fit for several models of a particular brand truck so the kit just includes the "generic" bumper and the right bracket that lines up with your truck model, this could and likely might be the only difference
