So I decided to test out my 4LO and the crawl control feature on my 2018 Taco but it will barely move without it feeling like it’s about to fall apart. So when I engaged in 4LO I let off the brake and it moved a few inches, but then it started shaking and it sounds like gears slipping when I try to move forward. I tried searching what’s going on but nothing comes up. Any ideas?

It's less Tacoma and more mod
From what I've heard crawl control sounds like the world ending as it shakes and shimmies it's way out of whatever your stuck in.

Yup, thats about right. Dont try it over tall rocks, you’ll will wish you had more armor underneath, fricken thing started dancing on them! It does work well on sand or mud though.

Crawl control IS really noisy - that's perfectly normal.

I think he meant the kind of terrain you were driving on, not the MTS dial setting.

I know, I put it on that setting because that’s what I was on.

Do you need to know, or care?
Maybe post a video of what is going on, but depending on the terrain and speed settings, could be perfectly normal. Brake actuators are noisy.

4LO was very useful during our wheeling today. I didn’t try crawl control but perhaps another time.
